Hundreds of illegally grown marijuana plants were seized in Somerset County this month, leading to an arrest.

Deputies executed 3 search warrants in the past two weeks, which they say were all connected with New York residents. The searches took place in Madison and Norridgewock, with deputies seizing 900 plants, cash, drug paraphernalia, and a vehicle.

Two of the properties are owned by 29-year-old Jiamin Lao, who has listed residences in Maine, California, and New York. Liao was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana and drug trafficking.

She’ll appear in court in July.
