Eddington man accused of causing overnight standoff with police taken into custody

EDDINGTON, Maine (WGAN) An Eddington man accused of causing a standoff is now in jail, according to police.

Maine State Police say they responded to a home on Clewleyville Road in Eddington around 7:30 Wednesday night. They were responding to a report of domestic violence at the home of 55-year-old Amilio Samaroo, who refused to come out when officers arrived.

He eventually emerged from the home and was taken into custody around 4 a.m. Thursday. He was charged with threatening with a dangerous weapon and is being held at Penobscot County Jail.
