An Eddington man has been found competent to stand trial after allegedly threatening to kill then-vice president Kamala Harris.
The Bangor Daily News reports that 51-year-old Thadius Wind plead not guilty in court yesterday to 4 felony counts of threatening interstate communication and one count of threat against the vice president.
He made the threat towards Harris on social media on October 7th of 2024, allegedly threatening law enforcement, Jews, various politicians and judges as well.
Wind was arrested in March of last year after an FBI investigation and a psychiatric evaluation was ordered shortly thereafter.
This wasn’t Wind’s first run-in with law enforcement, as he was sentenced in 2021 after a 20-hour standoff with police, and engaged them in 3 other standoffs in less than 2 years as of December 2022.
Wind will represent himself instead of a lawyer, at his own request.
