An elementary school in Franklin County was on lockdown for about an hour Thursday morning.

The Portland Press Herald reports Strong Elementary school was in lockdown. Police arrested and charged a local man, 27-year-old Christian Richards, who they say arrived at the school and became agitated with school officials, who called 911 and ordered the lockdown.

The superintendent says Richards was banging on windows and trying to force his way inside the school.

Richards was arrested and charged with two counts of terrorizing.

He’s being held at Franklin County Detention Center and was set to appear before a judge on Friday.
