Fairfield Man Dies Trying to Cross I-95 Off-Ramp

A 49-year-old man is dead after being hit by tractor-trailer while trying to cross an I-95 off-ramp in Fairfield early Friday morning.

Maine State Police say Mark Michaud of Fairfield died at the scene after trying to walk across the exit 132 off-ramp in Fairfield on the Maine Turnpike.

The 19-year-old truck driver from Milford was not injured in the crash that happened at about 3:40 this morning.

The crash remains under investigation.

Maine State Police say no other information is being released at this time.

The Maine Department of Public Safety issued an advisement at 4:17 am Friday notifying the public of its investigation of the fatal incident and closure of the off-ramp
