Fatal crash in Caratunk leaves two women dead

Two people were killed in a crash in Somerset County over the weekend.

Police say 25-year-old Jordan Merchant of Eastbrook and 28-year-old Lindsey Walsh of Lakeville, Massachusetts died Saturday evening in Caratunk.

The accident happened Saturday evening after the car they were in made contact with a friend’s pickup truck that was coming up from behind. Their car went out of control, hitting a tree on Route 201.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.
