PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – The U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administration is awarding $4.1 million for grants to improve the International Marine Terminal in Portland Harbor.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins says the money is being provided to the Maine Port Authority for improvements to the port used by companies including L.L. Bean, Sappi, and potato and blueberry growers.

Collins is chair of transportation appropriations subcommittee, and she pressed for the funding.
