Feds Pony up $830,000 to Renovate Rockland Pier

ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) The U.S. Department of Commerce is going to spend $830,000 to renovate the Rockland Commercial Fish Pier in Maine.

The project calls for repairs and upgrades to the pier, including resurfacing, stabilizing storage areas, and upgrading the electrical system.

The department’s Economic Development Administration said the renovated structure will support current needs, and future growth.

The money is made available through the Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration.

The agency also announced it was awarding $615,000 to the agency that’s redeveloping the former Brunswick Naval Air Station in Maine.
