The Cumberland County Jail was placed on lockdown Friday night because of a drug outbreak.

According to our info partners at channel 8, numerous intake officers were taken to Maine Medical Center and treated for fentanyl exposure.

Drugs possessed by 29-year-old inmate Brent Gross of Westbrook fell after he refused to give them up. Authorities say the substance tested positive for fentanyl.

Visitors were temporarily barred from entering the jail Friday night. The jail is now back to normal operations.
