The Maine Department of Transportation has denied Isleboro’s request to delay a ferry rate increase.
According to our info partners at channel 8, residents in Isleboro say the new rates are a 118 percent jump for a vehicle and driver. The DOT says the increase will help cut truck and freight rates by 10 percent and improve accessibility to others islands in Maine.
The new rates become effective Monday.
