The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated two fires in recent days, one in Machiasport and another in Bangor.

The fire in Machiasport broke out at a home on Corn Hill on Tuesday evening. The owner wasn’t home at the time. The home was uninsured and considered a total loss but no one was injured. Investigators were not able to establish the cause, and were unable to rule out multiple accidental causes.

Fire marshals investigated a second fire in Bangor on Wednesday. That one caused severe damage to several storage units at Econo-Storage of Maine on Union Street. Marshals say the business was insured. The cause of that fire is also undetermined.
