Firefighters Spend 3 Hours Battling Blaze in Harrison

A mobile home and surrounding buildings were destroyed after a two-alarm fire in Harrison early Monday.

Harrison Fire and Rescue says they were assisted by nine surrounding fire departments to battle the fire, which took three hours to put out.

They say they were especially challenged by a lack of manpower and water sources at that end of town. The fire occurred at 896 Edes Falls Road at 3:30 a.m. Monday.

There was no one inside the home when the fire broke out, and two cats were saved.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s office.

Departments from Bridgton, Naples, Casco, Raymond, Norway, Otisfield, Sebago, Sweden and Waterford assisted in extinguishing the fire.
