Waterville, Maine —  A fire broke out at a residence on 6 Front Place, leaving five people displaced. The incident prompted a swift response from the Waterville Fire Department.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames at the rear of the building. The situation was further complicated by energized power lines that had fallen in an adjacent alleyway, posing a safety hazard for those attempting to escape. Power in the area was promptly shut down while Central Maine Power (CMP) worked to repair the damaged lines.

Thankfully, all occupants managed to evacuate the building without injury. The fire crews acted swiftly, preventing the flames from spreading to neighboring structures.

The Red Cross has been notified and is assisting the displaced tenants. Meanwhile, investigators from the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office are diligently working to determine the cause of the fire.
