Five Men Charged with Selling Crack Cocaine in Lewiston

LEWISTON, Maine (WGAN) Drug agents have made made five arrests as part of an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in Lewiston.

Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency and Lewiston Police arrested 34-year-old James Earl Pontoo, 30-year-old Shane Daniel Pontoo, 26-year-old Cain Robertson, 53-year-old Timothy Joseph Rodrigue, and 43-year-old Christopher McFarland. All five are from Lewiston. They were all charged with trafficking in crack cocaine.

The arrests came after a three-month long investigation, which included undercover purchases of the drug from the five men.

Agents say they also seized items associated with drug trafficking from a residence at 101 Pine Street in Lewiston.

The men are being held at the Androscoggin County Jail. Bail for each was set at the following amounts; James Pontoo ($10,000 Cash), Shane Ponto ($2,500), Cain Robertson ($5,000 Cash), Timothy Rodrigue ($2,500 Cash,) and Christopher McFarland ($,5000). James and Shane Pontoo posted bail and have been released. The other three will appear in Lewiston District Court on Friday.

MDEA and Lewiston Police say the investigation is ongoing, and expect to make more arrests.
