Former Maine Teacher Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges

WISCASSET, Maine (WGAN) A former teacher at a Waldoboro school is facing sexual assault charges.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Nancy Leigh Ann Brann was arrested Thursday. She’s accused of assaulting a student under the age of 14 at the Coastal Christian School in Waldoboro in 2016 when she was a teacher. School officials say they were unaware of the allegations, and terminated Brann for unrelated reasons. Brann surrendered herself at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.

Her bail was set $10,000 on conditions that she has no contact with the victim, any children under the age of 16, and does not return to the school.
