Four people were injured, one critically, following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Haines Meadow Road in Buxton on Monday afternoon. According to the Buxton Police Department, the vehicle was traveling toward Saco when the driver lost control, causing the car to leave the roadway and flip onto its roof. Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after 2:00 p.m. to find the occupants trapped inside the wreckage.

First responders had to use extrication equipment to remove the victims from the vehicle. All four individuals were transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland. While three of the occupants suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, one passenger remains in critical condition. The names of those involved have not yet been released as police continue to notify family members.

Haines Meadow Road was closed for several hours while a reconstruction team investigated the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor, though the investigation remains ongoing. Buxton Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it to contact their department.
