Freeport Man Charged with Attempted Murder


FREEPORT, Maine (WGAN)  A Freeport man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Freeport Police say officers were called to Estes Drive at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday for a reported assault.

Police say 34-year-old Garrett White, who lives at the residence, was taken into custody.

Police say White’s parents were taken to Mercy hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say White was taken to Cumberland County Jail after being treated and released from Maine Medical Center.

White was charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Police haven’t released any more details.
