BANGOR, Maine (AP) The Maine Warden Service says it has located the remains of a person in the woods of Bangor.

The service says one of its K9s found the remains on Sunday morning. The service had been assisting the Bangor Police Department with a search for a missing man from the city.

The remains have been transferred to the medical examiner’s office for identification. The person had not yet been identified on Monday morning.

Some 35 searchers took part in the effort to find the man. The cadaver dog found the remains in a wooded area about a half mile off of an avenue that runs through the eastern part of the city.
