Girl injured in ATV crash last month dies of injuries

An 11-year-old girl who was seriously injured in an ATV crash in Dover-Foxcroft has died.

Police say the girl and her 43-year-old father were riding the ATV near Mayo Street when they crashed last month. Both were initially taken with serious injuries to Northern Light Mayo Hospital. The girl was later taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor via LifeFlight.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife confirmed Wednesday morning that the girl succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.

The Maine Warden Service continues to investigate the crash.
