Mills on Wednesday unveiled the “Don’t Miss Your Shot: Vacationland Sweepstakes”, which will award one vaccinated Mainer with a sizable jackpot.

The new sweepstakes will award one vaccinated winner a dollar for each Mainer who receives at least one dose of a vaccine by July 4th. If that award were given out now, it would total more than $876,000.

Residents 12 and older who have received at least one dose of a Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Maine since December 15th 2020, may enter for a chance to win the prize.

The effort comes even with Maine already beating President Joe Biden’s goal of getting at least one dose into the arms of 70% of residents in each state by July 4th.

“Maine is a national leader in COVID-19 vaccination thanks to the more than 876,000 people who have already rolled up their sleeves,” said Governor Mills. “Our goal with the Don’t Miss Your Shot: Vaccinationland Sweepstakes is to encourage even more people to get the vaccine and declare their independence from COVID-19 as we approach the Fourth of July.”

Entries are now being accepted online or by calling the Community Vaccination Line at 1-888-445-4111.
