HARPSWELL, Maine (WGAN)  The State Fire Marshal’s Office says a Harpswell man has been charged with arson after fire destroyed the mobile home was renting on Great Island.

30-year-old Bradley Wallace was taken to the Cumberland County Jail after being treated for burns and cuts at Mid Coast Hospital.

Investigators say the fire started in his bedroom about 6 a.m. Wednesday, likely from paper products that were set on fire. Three other people, spending the night, escaped the fire without injury. They were alerted to the fire by Wallace, after they also smelled smoke.

The mobile home at 92 Sunset Cove Road was destroyed. Fire investigators say Wallace’s two dogs also died in the fire.
