Harrison man charged with attacking mother

HARRISON, Maine (WGAN)  State Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a stabbing and assault Friday night in Harrison that left a woman with serious injuries and her son charged with the attack.

Police say 49-year-old Halimo Azair is being treated at Maine Medical Center for stab wounds.  Police say she had injuries to her head, arms and face.  She was flown to the hospital by LifeFlight helicopter.

Police say 24-year-old Mohamed Noh was charged with elevated aggravated assault and was taken to Cumberland County Jail.  He’s expected to make a court appearance Monday.

Police are still investigating a motive for the attack.
