One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a head-on crash in Augusta on Saturday.

Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the crash happened on the interstate near mile 112 southbound Saturday night around 8:15.

Police found that 45-year-old Sarah Lincoln of Winthrop had entered the interstate going the wrong way. She struck a vehicle being driven by 18-year-old Julia Kronstrand of Litchfield.

Both drivers were taken to Maine General Hospital in Augusta. Kronstrand suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Lincoln had minor injuries.
