Home in Wayne Destroyed by Fire

A home in Wayne, west of Augusta, is destroyed from a heavy fire, which drew assistance from several area fire departments Tuesday night.

Firefighters say they arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, but were able to get everyone out with one person suffering minor injuries. That person was taken to a local hospital.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was brought in to assist with the fire investigation.

The cause has not been determined because of the extent of the damage, but the investigation is ongoing.

The home was completely leveled in the fire and images indicate a nearby vehicle was also destroyed.
