Homeless Shelters Seek Donations for the Holidays

Local shelters say they’re assisting more people with the rise of asylum seekers coming to Maine.

Preble Street officials in Portland say the holidays are especially tough on the homeless, but there are ways to help. They say every dollar that’s donated can be turned into seven pounds of food with help from the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 News, officials say they currently have enough supplies to last through March.
