HERMON, Maine (WGAN) Investigators say a fire that caused a propane tank to explode at a home in Hermon in December was the result of arson.

Shannon Moss with the Maine Department of Public Safety says arson was the cause of the fire at the home on Black Stream Road on Dec. 14th.

The home was a total loss.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the fire caused a propane tank located about 400 feet away to explode.

Moss says the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being asked to reach out to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office Tip Line at 1-888-870-6162.
