Human remains found in Augusta identified as man who went missing in 2017

AUGUSTA, Maine (WGAN) Police say human remains that were found in Augusta in November belong to a man who was reported missing a few years ago.

Maine State Police said Tuesday the remains discovered by a hunter on Edison Drive behind the CMP building are those of Scott Milliken, who was 54 at the time of his disappearance in March of 2017. He was reported missing after he didn’t show up to meet with a friend.

Milliken’s personal belongings had been left behind at home.

Investigators said the remains had likely been there for at least a year before they were found.
