In-person absentee voting underway in Portland

In-person absentee voting began in Portland on Tuesday.

Residents can go to the State of Maine Room on the 2nd floor of City Hall and cast their ballots Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The last day to vote in-person absentee is Thurs., Nov. 2.

For those who requested absentee ballots by mail, those started going out Tuesday as well.

Residents can drop off completed absentee ballots 24-7 by going to one of the external drop boxes at City Hall or Canco Road.

They must be returned via mail or drop-box by 8 p.m. on election day.

They cannot be dropped off at a polling location.

Election day is Tues., Nov. 7.

Polling places will be open throughout the city that day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
