Southern Maine school district reports one case of COVID-19

WATERBORO, Maine (WGAN) An individual at Massabesic Middle School in Waterboro has tested positive for COVID-19.

RSU 57 said Wednesday that members of the 7th grade Team Allagash at the middle school are considered close contacts of that individual. Students and families who may have been exposed will be self-isolating, per the state CDC’s guidance.

No other community members of RSU 57 have tested positive.

The district did not specify whether the person who tested positive was a student, teacher, or staff member.
