The Chief of Police in Buxton has been placed on paid leave due to what the department says is a “personnel matter.”

According to the Portland Press Herald, a Buxton selectman said Chief Troy Cline was placed on leave last week.

Selectman Frank Pulsoni stressed that no one has been fired, but that Cline will remain on leave indefinitely while an investigation is underway.

The board has not decided whether to appoint an acting chief in the meantime.

Cline was hired to serve as police chief in 2016. Before that, he was the police chief in Wiscasset.
