Investigators await autopsy results after remains of New Hampshire couple found in separate waste facilities

LEWISTON, Maine (WGAN) Police are investigating after the remains of a New Hampshire woman and her fiancé were found at separate waste transfer facilities in Maine and New Hampshire.

According to the Portland Press Herald, remains found at the Casella waste transfer facility in Lewiston on September 21st were identified as 29-year-old Matthew Schofield of Laconia, New Hampshire. His cause of death has not yet been determined.

The remains of 28-year-old Jessica Lurvey were also found at a Casella facility in Belmont, New Hampshire on September 9th.

The couple had two children.

Investigators in both states are still awaiting the results of autopsies.

Although Lurvey’s death is considered untimely and is under investigation, it’s not being considered suspicious.
