Investigators looking into cause of fatal fire in St. George

A fatal fire in Knox County is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a home on Clark Island Road in St. George around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Crews discovered the body of an adult male, who they believe lived alone at the residence, which was a rental property.

The body was being brought to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Their identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
