Jay Man Found Guilty of Murder in Ex-Girlfriend’s Beating Death

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) A Jay man accused of beating his ex-girlfriend to death is found guilty of murder.

James Sweeney killed Wendy Douglass in July of 2017 while she was sleeping in her home in Jay. Sweeney had given authorities a note confessing to hurting Douglass.

Our info partners at CBS 13 news report Sweeney faces 25 years to life behind bars when he’s sentenced in April.
