The Maine Deadly Force Review Panel wants a review of how Maine officers get firearms training after two separate incidents of hostages being hit by gunfire.

In one case three years ago in Mars Hill, an officer shot and killed a man with a hostage, but also grazed the hostage.

The panel says its the second case it reviewed in which a hostage was shot.

It recommends the Maine Criminal Justice Academy review firearms training for officers.
