The commission tasked with investigating the events surrounding the Lewiston mass shooting will question Lewiston and Lisbon police on Thursday.

The meeting will be open to the public.

The commission has previously heard testimony from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office and family members of some of the people who were gunned down on Oct. 25. The panel appointed by Gov. Janet Mills and Maine’s Attorney General is looking into the handling of reports prior to the shooting, indicating that the gunman was mentally unstable and potentially capable of committing a mass killing.

Lewiston police officers, who were training at a firing range near Just-In-Time Recreation, arrived within 90 seconds of the first 911 call. However, by the time they arrived, the gunman had moved on to the second shooting location, Schemengees Bar and Grille.
