Lewiston Man Arrested, Accused of Dragging Woman with Car


LEWISTON, Maine (WGAN)  Lewiston Police have arrested a man they say dragged a woman with his car.

According to our info partners at Channel 8, police were called to the area of Pine and Horton Streets Wednesday morning.

Police say a 53-year-old woman had been dragged by a car driven by 28-year-old Daniel Chamberland.  Police say the woman suffered bruises and cuts and was taken to the hospital.

Police found Chamberland’s car later in the day and took him into custody.  He’s been charged with reckless conduct, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, driving to endanger.  He was also arrested on an unrelated warrant of arrest for assault.

Police say Chamberland and the victim were “familiar with each other.  ” Police said this was not and accident, nor a domestic violence incident.
