A 49-year-old man faces numerous theft and burglary charges after Lewiston Police say he robbed a home and was chase out of another one overnight this morning.
Officers say a victim reported a stolen vehicle and purse while a neighbor reported confronting a man in their home, who then fled the scene.
In the first case, they say the victim entered her kitchen to find her purse missing and the surrounding area ransacked. Officers say it was also learned that the victim’s vehicle was stolen from their driveway.
In the second case, the suspect fled the scene when confronted by the homeowner in their home at 4 am. The homeowner was able to provide home surveillance footage of the suspect as he approached the residence.
Police say they then got a call later in the day about the first victim’s stolen credit card being used at a local business.
Officers say they quickly went to the store and found Jason Folkner outside, who matched the description in the home surveillance footage.
Folkner was arrested and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.
The stolen vehicle was found in the business parking lot and the purse was discovered discarded a short distance away.
Folkner has a bail set at $2,000 and has been charged with:
