Eight people were interviewed and released by investigators who searched a residence in Lewiston on Sunday.

Lewiston police stopped a vehicle leaving 100 College Street last Thursday, with one of the occupants getting out and fleeing from police while throwing a firearm.

Investigators searched the residence on Sunday after a report of gunfire, seizing marijuana and suspected drug proceeds.

The man who escaped from the traffic stop has been identified by police, but their name is not being made public.

Police detained 8 people ranging between 15 and 19 years old at the apartment. They were all released.
