Lewiston police urge residents to lock their vehicles amid rash of burglaries

Police in Lewiston are reminding Mainers to lock their vehicles and not to leave valuables inside, after a slew of reported break-ins in the new year.

Police in the city said they charged three people in connection with vehicle break-ins on Saturday, and three more a couple nights later in another neighborhood.

The department says thieves are typically out late at night, and an unlocked vehicle is an easy target.
