Lifeguards Rescue Four from Riptide in Biddeford

The Biddeford Fire Department says several people were rescued by lifeguards after getting caught in a riptide Wednesday afternoon.

The Portland Press Herald reports the rescue happened at Fortunes Rock Beach.

Officials say two adults and two children were rescued. All four were hospitalized and one person suffered serious injuries.

The National Weather Service reported rough conditions at the beach.
