Some places in northern New England are going to see some light snow, but it’s just a prelude to the big one this weekend.

The National Weather Service says a clipper-style system could drop an inch of snow on Friday. But other places might not see any snow at all.

The bigger storm, a nor’easter, is looming for the weekend.

Meteorologist Derek Schroeter said as much as 2 feet of snow could fall across parts of Maine and New Hampshire, with the heaviest snow early Sunday. It’ll be followed by bitter cold on Monday with dangerous wind chills in the region.
