Lightning strikes Wells CVS, roof suffers extensive damage

Lightning struck a CVS store in Wells Sunday afternoon, causing significant damage to the roof of the building.

Light smoke was seen coming from the roof as fire crews arrived at the pharmacy chain’s Steeple Way location.

According to CBS 13, firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames.

The building was cleared out as the incident was investigated, but no injuries were reported and the store was able to reopen to customers after the fire.

Officials said most of the damage was confined to the roof.
