Local man dead after fire at Waldo County home

A man is dead after a fire in Waldo County.

The Maine Dept. of Public Safety says the fire broke out at about 2 a.m. Friday at a home on Moe’s Cove Rd. in Industry.

A family of four lived in the home.

The mother and two children, ages 6 and 10, were able to make it out of the home safely after being awakened by smoke alarms.

The father, Ryan Hallman,, 46, did not make it out of the home, according to a press release from the public safety department.

His remains were transported to a local funeral home, where the remains were expected to be examined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but according to the release, there is no evidence of foul play.
