Cumberland County deputies are investigating what turned out to be fake threat at Lake Region High School Friday morning.

Deputies say they were informed about an anonymous call to the school reporting an individual in the parking lot armed with a rifle.

They say numerous law enforcement agencies conducted a thorough search of the school grounds and confirmed that there was no threat to students or staff and the initial report was unfounded.

The Lake Region High School was placed in Lock Down for approximately a half hour as a precautionary measure and then resumed normal operations.

Deputies say they were first alerted about the call at roughly 7:30 am and subsequently synched up response operations with the Lake Region High School Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer
