MA Man Arrested in Auburn Stabbing


AUBURN, Maine (WGAN)  Auburn Police say a Massachusetts man has been arrested after a stabbing in the city Monday night.

Police say around 11:50 p.m. Monday night, they were called to 9 James St for a reported stabbing.  Officers say they found a 40-year-old man that had been stabbed three times when they arrived.

The victim was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The victim was later released from the hospital.

Police say the suspect, 30-year-old Cory Hayden from New Bedford, Mass. was found on Pleasant Street.  He was arrested and charged with elevated aggravated assault and is being held at Androscoggin County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
