Madawaska man dies after being hit by a car

A Madawaska man has died after being struck by a car Saturday night.

William Nelson, 48, was in the intersection of Main Street and Bridge Avenue, minutes from the Canadian border, when he was struck by a 2013 Ford Escape.

According to police chief Ross Dubois. the Escape was driven by Barbara Morin, also of Madawaska.

Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
