Maine Agency Issues Recall of Cannabis Vape Cartridges

The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy is issuing a health and safety recall for vape cartridges sold at 21 adult use stores across the state.

The recall is for Yani adult use vape cartridges called “Watermelon Chimera”, which contain an unsafe level of an insecticide, Chlorfenapyr, which can lead to high fever, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and/or altered mental status.

The issue was discovered during an investigation into the cartridge’s stemming from a consumer complaint about an adverse health reaction to the product.

Consumers are being advised to either return the product to the store they purchased it from or dispose of it.

The product is 0.5-gram live resin vape cartridges and 1-gram live resin vape cartridges.

The cartridges were sold between July 10, 2025, and October 16, 2025

The stores where the product was sold include: Belvidere Farm in Rockland; Cannabis Cured in Bangor, Bethel, Carrabassett Valley, Damariscotta, Eliot, Fairfield, Portland, Stratton and Thomaston; Cannabis Haven in Auburn, Augusta, Lewiston and Waterville; Garden Lites 420 in Peru; GreenLife Guilford in Guilford; GreenLife Milo in Milo; Hive, LLC in Chelsea; OMG Cannabis Co. in Portland; Royal Leaf Apothecary in Presque Isle; and The Joint.me in Portland.
