PORTLAND, Maine (AP) Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey has agreed to review the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old during a confrontation with a police officer more than a decade ago.

The local district attorney called attention to the fatal shooting of Gregori Jackson after a 2007 traffic stop in Waldoboro and threatened to bring the case to a grand jury herself.

Jackson, of Whitefield, was accused of resisting and fighting with Zachary Curtis, a reserve officer for the Waldoboro police.

The decision to review the case came after Frey listened to a presentation of new evidence in the fatal shooting. The prosecutor said the evidence doesn’t sync with the officer’s statements.
