The Maine Attorney General’s Office ruled Wednesday that three separate police shootings were all justified.
That includes the February shooting death of 37-year-old Kourtney Sherwood.
She was killed by police in Topsham after allegedly making homicidal and suicidal statements.
Police say she was in a car aiming a pistol at two officers before they opened fire.
A second February shooting was also investigated by the Office of the Maine Attorney General.
It found that officers were justified in shooting 27-year-old Gregory Lasselle after a 12-hour standoff in Pittsfield.
Police had responded to a domestic disturbance call at the home.
The third shooting happened in Lewiston in Jan. 2021, when police say 26-year-old Kyle Edwards tried to strike an officer with a stolen pick-up truck.
The officer fired one shot at Edwards, who survived his injury.
According to CBS 13, the Office of the Attorney General has never ruled that an officer-involved shooting in Maine was unjustified.
