Maine CDC reporting 275 confirmed cases of coronavirus


The Maine CDC confirmed 275 cases of coronavirus in the state on Monday.

Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah says there have been 3 deaths related to COVID-19 so far. One was a woman in her 80s and another was a man in his 60s. Both were from Cumberland County. Their deaths were reported on Sunday. The first death, a man in his 80s, also from Cumberland County, was reported on Friday.

Cumberland County has reported the most cases, with the total on Monday reaching 154. York has the second highest number of cases, at 53.

49 people were hospitalized at some point, and 41 have recovered. 43 of those who have become sick are health care workers.

As of Monday morning, there were 6,088 negative tests.

Dr. Shah says there are now 3 positive cases at a group home in Freeport, as well cases in Leeds.

There were more than 130,000 coronavirus cases in the US as of Sunday afternoon. About 2,300 people had died.
